Share Your Story – Women & HIV Today audio-visual tool
09/04/2026
Are you a woman living with HIV who would like to help shape the future of health education in Australia?
Expressions of Interest close – Wednesday, 13 May
Positive Women Victoria (PWV) and the National Association of People with HIV Australia (NAPWHA) are developing Women and HIV Today—a new national, audio-visual education tool for healthcare students and professionals. This resource will bring together expert knowledge and real lived experience to improve understanding of women and HIV across clinical and community settings.
We’re inviting women living with HIV to take part in a short video sharing their lived experience. These videos will be embedded into the tool and sit alongside expert content and help challenge stigma, build awareness, and improve care for women across Australia.
We’re particularly interested in voices that can speak to:
- HIV testing and diagnosis
- U=U
- Motherhood and reproductive health
- Stigma and discrimination in healthcare
- Ageing with HIV
You don’t need prior media experience—just a willingness to share your story in a safe, supported environment.
Your Expression of Interest: We are seeking six women from around Australia with filming to take place in Melbourne on Saturday in late June or early July (date tbc). Flights and accommodation for two nights will be included as well as an honorarium. If interest is oversubscribed, there will be a selection process by the project advisory group. Please outline those topic/s who wish to share your lived experience and why it will make an impact.
Why get involved?
Your voice can help educate future health professionals, reduce stigma, and improve care for women living with HIV nationwide.
