PWV member Chrissie, interviewed by Nine Networks 9Honey for World AIDS Day

07/12/2023

Chrissie has been living with HIV for 23 years but most Aussies think women don’t get it
HIV affects more than 3,300 Australian women, but millions mistakenly believe they’re not at risk.
PWV member Chrissie was interviewed by 9Honey this week as part of PWVs World AIDS Day campaign to raise awareness that women are also living and ‘thriving’ with HIV, the U=U message (Undetectable equals Untransmissable) and to help end HIV-related stigma. Chrissie was also one of seven women living with HIV (PWV members) who featured in the short film Thriving, which was screened nationally and internationally on World AIDS Day 2023.
U=U is based on more than 20 years of scientific evidence that a person with HIV who is on antiretroviral treatment and has an undetectable viral load, can not transmit HIV sexually.
