International HIV survey Positive Perspectives 3 released

International survey finds half of people with HIV globally feel unheard by their doctor and many did not believe in U=U.
The Positive Perspectives 3 (PP3), study , now in its 10th year is run by ViiV Healthcare.
• 40% did not make joint treatment decisions with their provider.
• Only 58% said they believed in U=U (Undetectable equals Untransmittable), and 31% were unable to explain U=U to others.
PP3 included 3000 positive people across 29 countries with many saying they sometimes did not make decisions together with their healthcare provider about their current antiretroviral (ART) regimen.
Positive Perspectives is one of the few international studies that focus on how people living with HIV think, feel and live.
Researchers advised that as HIV treatment continues to advance, building strong partnerships between people with HIV and their medical providers has never been more important.
