Immigration Law and Your Path to Living in Australia with HIV – WEBINAR

20/09/2024

Date & Time:  Wednesday, 20 November 2024 at 2:00pm to 3:00pm  AEST

Venue:  Online via Zoom

With Special Guests David Carter and Rhys Evans from the Health+Law Partnership

Immigration law and policy can be complicated and changes frequently. In this webinar hosted by Positive Women Victoria, special guests David Carter, lead researcher with the Health+Law Partnership, and Rhys Evans, researcher and former Projects, Policy and Law Reform Solicitor at the HIV AIDS Legal Centre (HALC), will answer you immigration questions and outline current policies relating to health-related regulations and the different immigration visa options available.

The HIV AIDS Legal Centre (HALC) is not-for-profit, specialist community legal centre, and the only one of its kind in Australia. It is part of a consortium of health, community and legal sector organisations that make up the Health+Law Partnership.

If you have not done so already, we recommend that you read HALC’s Positive Migration Guide on immigration for people with HIV, their family members and others who fail the health criteria for an Australian visa. It will also be useful to anyone who seeks to come to Australia and who fails the health criteria on the grounds of them posing a significant cost to Australia.
