A story telling and communications project for women with HIV
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST OPEN (closes 4 March)
Online via Zoom and Weekend Workshop (Victoria)
Change The Story is a communications and safe story telling project for up to ten women living with HIV. This project, which includes mentoring via online zoom meetings and a weekend workshop follows on from PWVs highly successful Tell The Story project in 2019, which was also funded by Gilead and included written stories and a podcast.
Change The Story aims to empower women with HIV to share their story safely with a variety of audiences and also update audiences knowledge about HIV testing and treatment, and address the knowledge gaps that often fuels stigma. The project will be a first step for women wishing to become advocates and enrol to become professional public speakers with Living Positive Victoria’s Positive Speakers Bureau.
By enrolling in Change The Story you will develop storytelling skills and gain confidence to help educate the general community as well as healthcare workers, especially student nurses and doctors, with basic up-to-date facts about HIV with regards to prevention, testing, treatment and care including pregnancy and breastfeeding, and the U=U message.
Change The Story is kindly supported by an unrestricted grant from Gilead Sciences Pty Ltd.
Please email your Expression of Interest and include why you want to enrol to: Heather Ellis comms@positivewomen.org.au
