Positive Women Victoria is
thrilled to announce it will soon be relocating to the Queen Victoria Women's
Centre (QVWC) in Lonsdale Street,
Melbourne. Positive Women
Victoria actively supports half of all women currently living with HIV in Victoria and our reach
is constantly increasing. Moving to the
QWVC will allow us to better meet the future needs of our members and our needs
as a growing organisation.
Like Positive Women Victoria,
the QVWC has a long history in supporting women’s health and wellbeing. “We are
all very excited about the move” Chair Bev Greet commented “The Queen Victoria
Women’s Centre is committed to providing a safe space for women to make
informed choices, reach their full potential and be inspired for the
future. This is very much the goal of
Positive Women Victoria too”.
CEO Kerrilie Rice added “We
will be housed within a women focused space and have access to many other
services for women. The Queen Victoria Women’s Centre is very accessible for
many more of our members. The space allows for the organisation to grow while
providing a safe space with an improved setup for the support of our members
and health promotion activities” she said.
“We will continue to work in
partnership with HIV sector and mainstream services and organisations to
strengthen the positive voice, whilst connecting to new women-only services
that will assist women living with HIV into the future.
To allow for the move, the
Positive Women Victoria office will close at 5pm on Tuesday 27th
July and reopen at 9am on Monday 2nd
August. From that date we can be contacted
